The japanese story "Taketori monogatari" tells of a young girl who is found by an elderly woodcutter inside a bamboo cane. The girl grows up with the woodcutter's family, becoming a beautiful woman, desired by princes and emperors.
At the end of the story, the girl is taken back to her homeland, on the moon, forgetting her time spent on earth.
I recommend you watch "Kaguya-hime no monogatari" by Studio Ghibli, I was particularly moved by the character of the princess, and I sincerely cried when she was forced to return to the moon, not wanting to forget the love and affection her earthly parents had given her.
